Saturday 16 March @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
This is the second permablitz to create a decorative, sensory, wildlife-friendly garden for the care home’s elderly residents, many of whom have Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. We will be adding plants that provide year round colour and painting the existing pergolas. We will also be planting scented climbers and creating a food growing area for the care home.
This permablitz is part of an initiative from Kentish Town City Farm partnered with Permablitz London to establish six new edible, green spaces in Camden. The designs were created on the Permaculture Design Certificate course they jointly delivered in 2022 as part of a Growing Food and Community gardening traineeship at the farm.
Mini-workshops will include:
- choosing plants for people with dementia and Alzheimers
- designing for nectar and pollen throughout the year
RSVP Essential: if you want to come along you need to let us know so we know numbers for lunch, which is provided, and so we can give you all the specific details. Contact Permablitz London here letting them know you want to join Wellesley Road Care Home Permablitz.
